La tour Eiffel / Notre-DameI think I should start with the famous Eiffel Tower or "La Tour Eiffel". It's the first place I went on my first arrival to Paris. They put a huge display board to countdown to the year 2000 as seen on the picture (There were 210 days left. You can figure out which date I took this photo.) The place where I was standing would be one of the great place for year 2000 celebration. The most famous monument in the world (317 meters, 10,100 tonnes) by Gustave Eiffel in 1889 for the Universal Exhibition. It was not appreciated by many people at the beginning and there was a dispute to tear it down after the exhibition but it was then preserved by being utilized as the antenna for several broadcastings. A gothic masterpiece. Notre Dame, conceived by Maurice de Sully, was built between the twelfth and fourteenth centuries (1163-1345).
